Visit the School Museum, Neuenburg Castle with regular baking days and the Rutteler Mill with a café. The outdoor pool and the heated pool in Bockhorn with a mini golf course are popular among children. The artist village of Dangast is nearby, with its swimming beach and saltwater swimming pool. From there you can go on a boat trip to the seal beaches, or go on a guided walk across the tidal flats. If you do not feel like cooking then you can visit various local restaurants. There are shops within easy walking distance. Tourist attractions include the towns of Oldenburg, Bad Zwischenahn, Bremerhaven and Jever with its historical old town. Wilhelmshaven is a starting point for trips to Helgoland, or you can go on a day trip to the East Frisian islands. The nearby North Sea coast offers a variety of trip destinations.
